On 12 September 2021, on the occasion of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress, President János Áder presented the Holy Father with two volumes of outstanding historical importance.

The decorative facsimile copy of Pray Codex, which contains the first coherent Hungarian text dating from the late 12th century, was prepared by the experts of the NSZL as a gift to Pope Francis by the Government of Hungary on the occasion of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress.
On Thursday and Friday, 9 and 10 September 2021, starting at 11 AM, curator Anna-Mária Orbán will give guided tours in Hungarian of the exhibition of the works of Blessed Vladimir Ghika, while English guided tour will be held on 10 September, starting at 14.00.

To compensate for the ‘library-free’ months, the validity of annual reader passes purchased previously in 2020–2021 will be extended by six months, and the validity of six-month reader passes by three months, free of charge.

As of June 15, 2021, the special collection reading rooms of the National Széchényi Library will be open again during the library's opening hours, from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Use of the special collections is also subject to epidemiological regulations which are currently in effect for the whole library and to immunity certificate.

Thanks to the cooperation between the NSZL and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the database of out of commerce works developed and operated by the EU organization could be launched with Hungarian data.

Our colleagues Szabolcs Dancs and Rita Radó provided a detailed presentation of the project in the journal Tudományos és Műszaki Tájékoztatás (Scientific and Technological Bulletin), in which the National Széchényi Library is actively participating.
