In recognition of his outstanding literary activity, our colleague Dr. László Boka was awarded Attila József Prize.
Our traditional exhibition presenting the best of maps produced by the Hungarian map making community in 2018 will be open in the Ceremonial Hall of NSZL (on Floor 6 of the building) between March 29 and April 13, 2019.

My Dime Memories – in April 2019, we are organizing a crowdsourced exhibition in Budapest to reflect upon stories from 1989 and how its changes impacted on everyday life, and we need your input. Until April 5, we invite you to share with us any memorabilia, including family and other photographs, personal items and objects, recalling the period of the regime change.

Digitization of OSZK híradó (NSZL Chronicle) has finally been completed. Online version of the periodical, aimed at processing and preserving the history of National Széchényi Library, can be accessed in the Electronic Periodicals Archive & Database (EPA).
On March 19, 2019, a sequel to the highly successful exhibition on the Pest entertainment industry between the two world wars will be opened in National Széchényi Library.

On March 8, 2019, our exhibition on Júlia Szendrey will ceremoniously be ended with a round-table discussion, in which the following experts will take part: literary and art historian Zsolt Mészáros, industrial artist Edit Szücs, and curators of the exhibition, literary historians Anikó Ágnes Patonai and Rita Szűts-Novák.

A book of studies entitled Ekslibris – znak własnościowy, dzieło sztuki. Studia i szkice (Ex libris: mark of ownership - piece of art. Studies and sketches) was recently published, based on the material of a Cracow-based international academic ex libris conference. The volume also includes an English-language study written by NSZL staff member Dr. Kornélia Vas-Tóth.

Dr. László Tüske and Bogić Rakočević, Director-General of the National Library of Montenegro got acquainted last October at a congress held for librarians in China. Following that, the possibility of establishing direct professional cooperation between the two institutions arose.

One of our colleagues co-authored the article entitled From divergence to convergence in Hungarian Librarianship: towards a common digital platform which was published in the latest issue of LIBRI journal. A copy of the journal is available for reading at NSZL’s Library of Book History, Library and Information, but the study can also be downloaded freely.
