On Sunday December 9, 2018, a Hungarian Cultural Corner was inaugurated at the Central Library of the University of Jordan by President Professor Dr. Abdel-Karim Al-Qudah, Ambassador to Jordan Csaba Czibere and Director-General of National Széchényi Library Dr. László Tüske. The Hungarian Corner was set up as part of cooperation between the Hungarian Embassy to Jordan and the leaders of the University of Jordan in Amman.

The Library will be closed but, to meet visitor demand, our exhibitions entitled The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop and Eternally Júlia – Faces and Question Marks will be open between December 27 and 29, 2018. NSZL will be open on Saturday December 22 for the last time this year.

Related to NSZL’s exhibition entitled The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop, curator of the exhibition Edina Zsupán will deliver a lecture in Nagyvárad (Oradea) on November 28, 2018.
At the chamber exhibition, maps made between 1909 and 1919 are on display, which can be regarded as special, since they show temporary conditions before the formation of the final borders. Border disputes of World War I come alive on nearly 30 maps, period posters, postcards and photographs.
The exhibition built on the basis of the rich stock of National Széchényi Library, completed with relics belonging to the collection of Petőfi Literary Museum, will present Júlia Szendrey’s role played in literature and private life.

On Thursday November 15, 2018, National Széchényi Library will host a professional day on the tasks of public collections related to the archiving of web and other internet content. The professional day is a sequel to the one held on October 13, 2017.
