Director-General of the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdelilah Tahani visited National Széchényi Library on September 5, 2018.
The history of Hungarian caricatures started in 1848 with the launch of Charivari Dongó, the first Hungarian satirical magazine. In 2018, the Group of Hungarian Caricaturists will celebrate a double anniversary in NSZL: the 170th anniversary of Charivari Dongó and the150th of Borsszem Jankó. The pop-up exhibition will be set up jointly by CAFé Budapest and National Széchényi Library.

Why did the Habsburgs send ambassadors to Constantinople? What kind of preparations were made for the trip, and what was shipping like on the River Danube? On September 1, 2018, Dr. Dóra Kerekes will deliver a lecture entitled “By ship from Vienna to Constantinople – Imperial diplomats and spies in the Early Modern Age” in National Széchényi Library.
An exhibition entitled Centenary of Xiling Seal Engraver’s Society will open in the National Relic exhibition space of our Library on September 3, 2018. Featuring traditional Chinese seals, painting and calligraphy, the exhibition will receive visitors until September 14.
