Our exhibition on the oeuvre of Mihály Tompa will be opened on May 23, 2017. The exhibition will be opened by literary historian Márton Szilágyi, professor and head of department, Doctor of Science (DSc) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Our publication entitled Propaganda in World War I by Iván Bertényi Jr. and László Boka received a diploma at the Beautiful Hungarian Book 2016 competition, in the nonfiction category. At the same time, this volume was also granted the József Antall Memorial Award. Graphic design and layout were made by our colleague Judit Vincze.

In Autumn, we will continue our Integrated Library Systems presentation series started in June 2015. On October 21, 2015 Monguz will present its Qulto system in the Ceremonial Hall of NSZL.

In the framework of our ILS presentation series, on Monday June 15, 2015 @Cult will present its FRBR- and RDA-based integrated library systems (ILS) named OliSuit (formerly dubbed Amicus) and OseeGenius.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Hungary, a book entitled Nem akarom elveszíteni a reményt (I don’t want to lose hope) by Nemat Kelimbetov will be presented in NSZL on May 9, 2017.

On May 4, 2017, NSZL will hold a conference on the importance of overseas hungarica, gathered via Mikes Kelemen Program, for public collections.

An exhibition entitled Ige-idők – A Reformáció 500 éve (Sermon Times – 500 Years of Reformation) was opened in Hungarian National Museum on April 27, 2017. Our Library also contributed to the organization of this exhibition.

On the fourth eve of the lecture series, entitled Orientalists in NSZL and presenting the culture of the East, Pál Fodor will deliver a lecture at 6 p.m. on May 9, 2017. (Attention, please, this is a new date!) Entitled The Siege of Szigetvár – Zrínyi and Suleiman’s death, the lecture will be delivered in the Ceremonial Hall of National Széchényi Library.
