As a member of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s delegation, Director-General of NSZL Dr. László Tüske visited Ankara at the end of June 2017. During this visit, he met Zülfi Toman, Director of the National Library of Turkey, and they signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.

A Chinese delegation led by Dr. Zhu Qi, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China paid a visit to our Library. Guests were received by Géza Szőcs, President of the National Library Board of Hungary and László Tüske, Director-General of NSZL.

Dear Visitors, hereby we would like to inform you that our Library will be closed between July 17 and August 20, 2017. NSZL will be opened again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday August 22, 2017. Except Monday and Sunday, our exhibitions entitled “Others Get Laurel Only by Leaves…” on János Arany, and Hungarian Sound Film Posters 1931–1944 can be visited even during the summer closure.

His Excellency Gholam-Ali Rajabi Yazdi, Ambassador of The Islamic Republic of Iran in Hungary visited our Library in order to have a look at the Persian manuscripts kept in NSZL. Staff members of Tehran National TV accompanied him on his visit.

On July 3, 2017, escrow contract of the autograph manuscript of Hymnus (Hymn), a poem by Ferenc Kölcsey will be renewed during a renewal ceremony in National Széchényi Library.
