On St. Stephen's Day, Saturday 20 August 2022, we will be hosting an open day and a variety of events. Our reading rooms will be closed, but visitors can take part in free guided tours of our buildings and storage rooms, exhibition, and a demonstration of handpress printing.
Our bookshop and gift shop will also be open on the Open Day to welcome book lovers.
National Széchényi Library’s collections and exhibitions are accessible to readers and visitors in shortened opening hours from 18 July to 21 August 2022. We look forward to welcoming our visitors back in full opening hours from 22 August 2022.
Tickets are available from 10 June at the library.

On 11 April 2022, we launched a children’s book in Ukrainian based on Hungarian folk tales, published in collaboration with our library.
A Ukrainian children’s book based on Hungarian folk tales was published jointly by Móra Publishing House, Nova Hvylja Association and NSZL, with the support of Petőfi Cultural Agency (PKÜ) and the Alföldi Printing House.
