We kindly invite you to participate in the conference ReAImagining Public Collections in the 21st Century in Light of Digital Development on 14 and 15 October 2024.
The conference will take place under the auspices of Hungary's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in three key venues, organised by three prestigious Hungarian cultural institutions: Hungarian National Museum Public Collection Centre – Hungarian National Museum (HNM), Hungarian National Museum Public Collection Centre – National Széchényi Library (NSZL) and National Archives of Hungary (MNL).
The conference will focus on the multifaceted digital challenges faced by public collections and will provide an international platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing and dialogue among museum professionals, librarians, archivists, policy makers and other related professionals. It aims to present the latest issues and opportunities in digitisation, digitalisation, technological developments and artificial intelligence in the cultural sector. The conference will also address related policies, trends and strategies, and present good practices in the areas of digitisation, new competences and skills, technological challenges and the use of AI.
The two-day event (14 and 15 October) will take place in three different venues, each of which will be adapted to the specific challenges of the cultural heritage areas: the Hungarian National Museum, the National Széchényi Library and the Petőfi Literary Museum.
The speakers will be representatives of various renowned European institutions and organisations, including IFLA, EBLIDA, AVICOM, E-RIHS, OMC Library Working Group and experts from DG EAC.
The session organised by MNL at the Petőfi Literary Museum can be attended by invitation only, while the sessions organised by HNM and NSZL are open to the general public.
