At a pre-Christmas screening in the ceremonial hall of the NSZL, the creators watched the 70-minute film Látjátok feleim... [My brethren, you see...], which was completed a few days ago and was annotated by NSZL colleagues. The film presents the precious manuscript of our collection marked MNy 1, the Pray Codex written in Latin and containing the Funeral Sermon and Prayer, the first coherent Hungarian handwritten text, and it also follows the complex process of making the decorative facsimile copy of the codex.
The decorative facsimile copy was prepared by the experts of the NSZL as a gift to Pope Francis by the Government of Hungary for, who visited Hungary on the occasion of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress, anh it was presented to the Holy Father by President János Áder on 12 September 2021.
The screenplay was written in May 2021, the film was shot between mid-June and 9 September, with editing, cutting and directing taking place from mid-September to the first days of December.
A date for the public screening of the film will be announced in the near future.
