The national library supported the 11th Poetry Festival in Csík with a significant donation of books, which - after the online competitions of the last three years - was held again in Csíkpálfalva (Păuleni-Ciuc, Romania). The event was organised by the Ferenc Márton Elementary School of Csíkpálfalva and the Fortis Hungarorum Cultural Association, with the support of the Székesfehérvár Media Centre and the National Széchényi Library.
The theme of the poetry recitation competition - in connection with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sándor Petőfi - was freedom and love. However, the competition was open not only to Petőfi poems, but also to other poems related to the theme. A novelty of this year's Poetry Festival was that, in addition to the presentations, there was also the possibility to compete online, so that not only the more than sixty primary and secondary school students from Udvarhelyszék, Csíkszék and the Gyergyó region, but also more than a hundred online entries were received.
At the competition, the judges, including Annamária Sudár, a performer and staff member of the NSZL, awarded the best performers in each age group. The National Library has already supported the competition with books in 2017 and 2019, but this year's support exceeded that of previous years.
