How to approach the Library on October 30?

On Wednesday October 30, 2019, from morning presumably until late afternoon, interstate guests protected by special security measures will be received on the territory of Buda Castle District. During this time, pedestrian traffic between Dísz Square and National Széchényi Library will be restricted from time to time, for longer or shorter periods.
We kindly ask you not to deliver legal deposit copies to NSZL throughout the day.

On October 31, 2019, National Széchényi Library will present the system of Heritage Library Documents Register (Hungarian abbreviation: MKDNy), which will be available after its integration in the National Library Platform (Hungarian abbreviation: OKP).

404 Not Found – Who will preserve the internet? – 2019

On Thursday November 14, 2019, starting at 10.30 and lasting until 14.30, National Széchényi Library will host a professional day on the tasks of public collections related to the archiving of web and other internet content. The professional day, entitled “404 Not Found – Who will preserve the internet?” is a sequel to the ones held on November 15, 2018 and on October 13, 2017.

NSZL at the Margó Festival of Literature and Book Fair

The Publishing House of National Széchényi Library will wait for you with two book presentations at the Margó Festival of Literature and Book Fair in Várkert Bazár. Visitors can choose not only from the latest publications of NSZL Publishing House, but also from the previously published books at the stand of the Hungarian national library. On Friday and Saturday, you can listen to the editors of two recently published volumes at the literary roundtable discussions.

The Image of Hungary in European Fiction – exhibition

The exhibition will present a selection of portraits of Hungary as featured in 16th–20th century English, French, German, Italian and Latin fiction, based on prints kept by National Széchényi Library.

International Cataloging Principles (ICP) represent the essentials of library profession, with special regard to bibliographic description. From now on the Hungarian translation of the IFLA Statement of International Cataloguing Principles (ICP), the latest edition of which was published in 2016, is available on the website of IFLA.
