On August 18, Katalin Bánkeszi, Honorary Director of the Hungarian Library Institute was granted József Szinnyei Award for her professional work. This award is granted to those who have had an outstanding performance on the long run, and who have promoted the development of their special field by their activities and initiatives.

Services of National Széchényi Library are not available between July 18 and August 22, 2016. During this summer closure, the entire building of NSZL will be closed on Saturday August 20, 2016, so on this day you cannot visit our exhibition entitled Zichy’s Drawn Heroes either. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you on Tuesday August 23.

Our blog on cartography, launched in April 2016 and operated by staff members of the Map Collection, was awarded a certificate of merit of the Zsuzsanna Juhari Award competition by Scientific Educational Society (Tudományos Ismeretterjesztő Társulat) and Science Journalists Club (Tudományos Újságírók Klubja).
