The Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of Eötvös Lorand University and the Map Collection of NSZL invite entries to win the title of “Beautiful Hungarian Map” this year, too. Contesting titles will be exhibited at an exhibition to be opened in National Széchényi Library in 2018.

Sixty contemporary Chinese and twenty Hungarian art works will be exhibited at the exhibition entitled Cultures and Generations: Founders and Heirs of Chinese and Hungarian Modern Art. The exhibition will be opened on December 14, 2017. (Due to technical reasons, opening ceremony of the exhibition will start at 12 a.m. instead of 11 a.m. Thank you for your understanding.)

Before their visit to Budapest, Director-General of National Széchényi Library László Tüske was guest of the Ankara-based institution in summer 2017. During that visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two libraries in order to facilitate professional cooperation.

Tamás Iványi will deliver a lecture entitled Mystical Interpretations of the Koran as part of the cultural historical series entitled Orientalists in NSZL, on the last eve of Season 2, starting at 5 p.m. on December 13, 2017.

In cooperation with other libraries, the Hungarian national library is currently working on the renewal of its complete IT infrastructure and on the renewal of the library systems. Related to that, on December 18, 2017, Slovak company Tempest will present its solutions that can be interesting for the Hungarian library community.
