On October 4, 2017, ELTE University Library and Archives will hold a conference entitled “Paradigm Shift in Libraries?”. Ágnes Rácz, Director of Collection Development, NSZL and Miklós Lendvay, Director of E-services, NSZL will also deliver presentations at the professional meeting.
Digitization is one of the key issues of discourse within the Hungarian library community. In order to facilitate an active dialogue, the Hungarian Library Institute will launch a further training series related to the topic. The first event of the four-part series will focus on the state of library digitization in Hungary, the digitization strategy of NSZL and the digitizing center set up here, as well as on the digital content service providing method used at the University of Pécs.
The training will be hosted by National Széchényi Library.
The project, developing the cultural sector on a national level, is being realized within the framework of a consortium agreement signed by Hungarian Open Air Museum, the Hungarian Cultural Institute Nonprofit Public Benefit Ltd. and National Széchényi Library, with a 3 billion forint EU support.
Sculptor Sándor Finta (1881–1958) spent most of his active years in America, and he settled in Brazil in 1920. It was during his years spent in South America that he got acquainted with Indian culture which provided a new theme for his art as a sculptor.
As part of a thematic week entitled National Library Days 2017 – ”Only from pure sources!”, the Association of Church Libraries and Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library will hold a professional conference entitled Tradition and innovation. The state, condition, processing and digitization of our museum collections. The event will take place in Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library on October 2, 2017.
Thanks to the performance of Örkény Theater entitled Aranyozás (Gilding), János Arany's spirit will be evoked in our Library as of 7 p.m. on Friday September 15, 2017.
